ArtWorks Cincinnati

Inside Out was made possible by ArtWorks' Jump Start: Emerging Artist Award in July 2020. This generous award provided funding, promotion, and support to make the project a reality. Two of their Art Apprentices were employed to assist with the in-person workshops from Aug-Oct 2020.

ArtWorks is an award-winning Greater Cincinnati nonprofit that transforms people and places through investments in creativity. The organization provides youth, ages 14-21 with the majority from underserved households, with competitive 21st century career readiness skills through mentorship by professional artists.

Since 1996, ArtWorks has employed more than 3,600 youth and 3,200 creative professionals, and the organization has completed more than 12,500 public and private art projects that includes 190 permanent outdoor murals, contributing to the region’s global reputation as an arts destination.

SOS Art Cincinnati

Through December 31, 2020, participants of Inside Out have the opportunity to submit their portrait to SOS Art for pairing with a poet who will create a poem inspired by the individual and their portrait. Both the portrait and the poem will be part of a virtual exhibit on the SOS Art website in 2021, and featured in a printed exhibit book.

SOS Art, is a 501c3 organization dedicated to encouraging, promoting, and providing opportunities for visual and literary arts on the themes of social justice. The organization works with communities of artists who use the arts to speak about, inform, educate and create a dialogue on issues of peace and justice and thus to bring about positive change.

Northern Ky. Pride Center

Inside Out is grateful for the warm welcome and continuing support from NKy Pride Center, located in Covington Kentucky. Soon after their long-awaited opening, we held an in-person workshop in the space in April 2022, and again in June 2022 for trans/non-binary youth. We were given the royal treatment: snacks, drinks, and lots of Pride swag for everyone. Special thank you to Bonnie, Amanda, and Amy! I look forward to more workshops in this fabulous setting.
